Lev steps toward insurance

Dog-walking rewards app Lev has obtained a personal lines property and casualty agency license, adding to its existing pet insurance partnership with Healthy Paws .

Founded in 2022 and led by CEO Igor Gourari, Lev lets dog owners track walks, discover dog-friendly locations, connect with nearby pet parents, and earn “Bones” redeemable for discounts on pet products. The company says it serves more than 50,000 dog owners and lists over 80,000 dog-friendly locations across the US and Canada. Lev also operates a Shopify marketplace where participating brands receive full payment while Lev funds the walking-based discounts.

In June, Lev added the ability for users to obtain a Healthy Paws pet insurance quote through its app. Members insured through the partnership earn twice as many Bones.

Bottom Line: לֵב (lev) means “heart” in Hebrew, while כֶּלֶב (kelev) means “dog.” Lev is embedded in kelev—a fitting name for what could become an embedded pet insurance offering.
