Ledger Lands $7M in Series A Led by MAIF Avenir
Cryptocurrency and blockchain security startup Ledger has secured $7 million in a Series A round led by MAIF Avenir, the VC arm of the French mutual insurer. This latest investment follows a $1.5 million round in 2015, bringing its total funding to date to $8.5 million. Ledger designs a line of products for the cryptocurrency and blockchain market: hardware wallets for consumers (think: HW-1), server appliances for enterprise, and embedded solutions for connected objects.
“Securing blockchain assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum is one of the greatest challenges in the digital asset space currently. Ledger is the leader in this field both for individuals and enterprises.”
