KING of Spam Advertisements Raises $34.6M Series C Led by Andreessen Horowitz

CA-based Health IQ, a licensed national agent in all 50 states focused on selling life insurance to those that are health-conscious, announced it has raised $34.6M in a Series C round led by Andreessen Horowitz, bringing its total funding to date to $81.5M .

Also, according to VentureBeat, the company is “reducing life insurance premiums for the healthiest of its respondents” by partnering with insurers that “typically” offer a 10% discount to Health IQ’s healthy respondents.

I’m not a believer. Health IQ is more of a lead-gen-fulfillment company that has positioned itself to attract healthier folks with the help of these kind of ads:

At times, it sticks.

At times, it doesn’t.

PPS. to Joe’s comment re. “they don’t even provide health insurance themselves”, Health IQ plans to expand into health, with products such as: dental, long-term care, disability, and cancer….Soon.
