Kin Insurance Officially Launches With $4M in Funding

Chicago-based home insurance startup, Kin Insurance, announced it has raised $4 million in funding from several investors including: Commerce Ventures, Omidyar Network, 500 Startups, Chicago Ventures and Portag3 Ventures, to name five. “Usually it will take around an hour of form filling to get your application submitted… Depending on the situation, it can be another 6-10 communications to get the whole process done. For us it’s just  three clicks” – founder Sean Harper. Coverager doesn’t approve this message. And not from lack of trying:

Bottom Line: the first market Kin will be available in is Florida. Possibly followed by North Carolina or Oklahoma, where hurricanes, tornadoes and other potential natural disasters allow the startup to apply data and risk models to differentiate itself.
