Kia taps LexisNexis to enable driver scoring and insurance savings

Kia Motors has partnered with LexisNexis Risk Solutions to bring real-time driving insights into its connected vehicle ecosystem, aiming to improve driver behavior and lower insurance costs.

The collaboration introduces LexisNexis’ Drive Metrics model into the new Kia One App, which now offers drivers a risk-based score alongside vehicle management tools like Kia Connect and MyKia. Drivers can view feedback on behaviors such as speeding and hard braking, and—if they choose—share their score with participating insurers to receive personalized policy pricing.

The integration, live across the UK and EU, supports Kia’s broader strategy of merging mobility, data, and insurance through a unified, privacy-conscious platform.

“Connected services are reshaping the driver experience, and having a data-based driver score is a significant step towards safer driving and more personalised mobility. We are empowering our customers with real-time driving insights while supporting the insurance industry with meaningful, privacy-conscious data, enabling insurance providers to deliver tailored solutions like never before.” – Olivier Pascal, Head of Connected Cars, Kia Connect.
