Kangaroo, the New York-based provider of smart home products, announced a $10.26m funding round led by Greycroft with participation from Lerer Hippeau and several angel investors.
Founded in 2018, Kangaroo launched with a wireless, hub-free, peel-and-stick motion sensor that originally cost $30 and now goes for $15. With the product, users can choose between two plans – Kangaroo Basic and Kangaroo Complete. The basic plan is a free plan with unlimited push notifications and the ability to add multiple users to monitor a single home. The complete plan, which costs $9 a month, offers the features of the basic plan plus text and voice notifications, 24/7 monitoring service, Alexa integration, and help getting up to 20% discount on homeowners insurance.
