IOA acquires assets of Insurance Queen

Insurance Office of America announced the acquisition of certain assets of Insurance Queen, a South Florida insurance brokerage, including its book of business. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2011, Insurance Queen specializes in insurance solutions for real estate and automotive dealership clients. The acquisition expands IOA’s presence in South Florida and strengthens its capabilities in those sectors.

According to IOA, the transaction adds specialized market expertise, carrier relationships, and a niche focused team to its Southeast operations. Insurance Queen’s clients will gain access to IOA’s national platform, technology resources, and broader market access.

IOA, founded in 1988, is one of the largest privately held insurance brokerages in the United States, with more than 1,500 employees across over 60 offices nationwide.

Separately, SimplyIOA , IOA’s digital home and auto insurance platform launched in 2022, has been discontinued. The SimplyIOA website is no longer active, and its original URL now redirects to IOA’s website, which does not offer the ability to obtain personal lines quotes online.

The platform’s CEO and founder, Brian McDowell, left SimplyIOA and joined sports insurance MGA Players Health in September 2024. According to his LinkedIn profile, he departed Players Health in February 2026. Reports published in September 2025 also indicated layoffs and restructuring within the SimplyIOA operation.

According to Coverager, SimplyIOA’s carrier partners included Progressive, Lemonade, Hippo, Palomar, and several other insurers. The platform was launched as a digital personal lines distribution business focused on providing consumers with online insurance quotes and policy purchasing capabilities.
