Introducing the Route Policy

Lehi, Utah-based Route announced it has raised $12 million in Seed financing for its tracking platform for merchants and consumers. The Route App automatically connects online orders from any brand, allowing customers to visually track where their packages are on a map, organize order history, and solve order issues all in one place. The cost to customers is 1% of the total cart, while the service is free for merchants, who can use Route to be “intentional” about their post-purchase experience with visual order tracking, package protection, effortless claim-filing, and the world’s first universal order history.

Wait, there’s more. The company offers the Route+ shipping insurance. “If your package is lost, damaged, or stolen, Route+ will replace the item for you.” The Route Policy is a marine cargo insurance policy issued to Route by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s of London. The Route Policy is provided to Route through Roanoke Insurance Group Inc., a subsidiary of Munich Re as well as an affiliate of Munich Re Syndicate, Ltd.

Bottom Line: Cover Genius comes to mind.
