Hospital-ranking platform Mpirica raises $4.6M
Mpirica Health, which is on a mission to allow patients to make informed decisions when it comes to which hospital they should get their care from, announced it has raised $4.6 million in a Series A round bringing its total funding to date to $6.6 million. The Bellevue-based startup developed a proprietary ‘Quality Score’ based on past medical outcomes, such as claims data from insurance companies, across 864 surgical procedures, to rank hospitals. This Quality Score is a 3-digit number that ranges from 100-800, with 800 being super good and 100 being super substandard.
Bottom Line: patterned after credit scores.
