Hippo Raises $70M

Mountain View, CA-based Hippo, has raised $70m in a Series C round co-led by Felicis Ventures and Lennar Corporation, with participation from existing investors that include Comcast Ventures, Fifth Wall Ventures, Horizon Ventures and GGV Capital. This latest round brings Hippo’s total funding to date to $109m.

Founded in 2015, Hippo has a total employee count of 46, representing a 188% growth since Nov. 2016, according to LinkedIn. Last month, the company attracted ~114k website visitors, with ~10% of traffic originating from referrals from companies like Esurance, Compare.com, MediaAlpha and The Zebra.
