Health insurer launches pregnancy app

Health insurer Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) has launched a new app called “TK Babyzeit” for pregnant women to access information and services relating to pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.

“Expectant parents often have a lot of questions during pregnancy, especially when the first child is on the move. The app can give an answer to many things and enables a midwife to be reached directly via the chat function.” – TK CEO, Dr. Jens Baas.

The app offers quality-assured information on the topics of pregnancy and childbirth, planners with important dates and checklists as well as information on family insurance and maternity benefits. Women can also use a midwife search for personal care around birth and the puerperium as well as a course search for birth preparation and post-gymnastics exercises.

The app will also indicate the latest corona regulations and allow women to attend online courses with approved midwives instead of face-to-face courses.

Bottom Line: “I would still like a way to track my weight regularly and the waist circumference.”
