HCF backs SleepWellBaby app-based program

SleepWellBaby is a collaboration between not-for-profit child and family health organization Tresillian and digital health company Sleepfit, with financial backing from Australia’s largest not-for-profit health insurer HCF.

The initiative has been designed as an all-in-one app for parents keen to develop their parenting skills and confidence with guidance on daily rhythms tailored for each age and developmental stage from newborns to 3 years of age. Parents will be able to access numerous features, including a digital version of the tried and trusted Tresillian residential-stay program; sleep and settling tips; breastfeeding and nutrition advice; as well as customizable baby planning and tracking tools to help monitor their child’s progress.

Predictability, consistency and persistence are the key themes of the app-based program, which offers round-the-clock tips, tools and insights into a child’s cycles and cues.

Development drew on feedback from 600 families, and Sleepfit CEO and Founder Melissa Webster said the app will be a real game-changer and confidence-builder for parents struggling with settling, sleep and developing a daily rhythm that’s right for their child.

“We know that having a newborn is an amazing time in your life but, on occasion, it can be a little tough-especially when it comes to sleep. That’s why we’ve partnered with Tresillian and Sleepfit to develop SleepWellBaby. We believe this app can empower new parents by offering them much needed support during this exciting but daunting time.” – HCF Chief Executive Officer Sheena Jack.
