Hadron names AXA XL and AIG veterans to leadership roles

Hadron Insurance announced the appointments of Liesel Carvajal as Group General Counsel and Ed McGough as Chief Information Officer as the specialty carrier continues to expand its delegated authority platform globally.

Carvajal joins Hadron from AXA XL, where she served as General Counsel for the U.S. insurance business. She previously held legal roles at Arch Insurance Group, AIG, and The Hartford. At Hadron, she will oversee legal, regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance functions across the company’s operations.

McGough previously held CIO and CTO roles at AIG and insurtech startups. He will lead Hadron’s technology function with a focus on scaling the company’s data architecture and expanding the capabilities of Collider, Hadron’s underwriting and portfolio management platform.

“The delegated authority market is at an inflection point. The carriers that will define the next decade are the ones investing in governance and infrastructure ahead of scale, not when they have to.” – Sam Reeder, Chief Executive Officer of Hadron.

Launched in 2023, Hadron operates through Hadron Specialty Insurance Company, The Guarantee Company of North America USA, and Hadron UK Insurance Company. The company is backed by more than $250 million in committed capital and holds an A- rating from AM Best.
