Gridwise raises $3.3 million
Gridwise, the tech startup helping drivers find more rides in less time, has closed a $3.3 million Seed round led by Mountain State Capital, with participation from Switch VC, 412 Venture Fund, Quaker Capital, Blue Tree Allied Angels, and Reinforced Ventures, taking its total funding to $5.4 million.
Founded in 2016, Gridwise offers a mobile app that aggregates real-time information across airport activity, local events, weather, traffic, and more, to help rideshare drivers boost their earnings. To date, the startup tracked 300 million ride-hailing miles from drivers using the app – mostly Uber and Lyft – and it now plans to put the data to work for the benefit of municipalities, mobile service platforms, insurance providers, and other key stakeholders looking to understand how people move within cities.
“The supply and demand data we capture across services not only allows us to create a more powerful user experience for drivers through data network effects, but also enables us to improve through the way people and goods move in cities by exposing aggregate analytics to corporate and municipal stakeholders.” – Gridwise cofounder and CEO Ryan Green.
Bottom Line: Over 100,000 rideshare drivers use Gridwise.
