Great Hill invests in E&S MGA Aurenity

Great Hill Partners  has made a strategic investment in Aurenity , a West Hartford, Connecticut-based excess and surplus managing general agent. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2022, Aurenity operates six E&S programs across primary, lead and excess casualty, public entity and religious risks, and property. It employs 26 people, according to LinkedIn data, and had reported $11 million in prior seed-stage funding.

Agman, Aurenity’s founding investor, and the management team will retain significant equity stakes. Great Hill Managing Directors Matt Vettel and Nick Cayer, along with Principal Bob Anderson, will join Aurenity’s board.

The investment is intended to support underwriter recruitment, new specialty-program launches and further investment in automation and AI-enabled underwriting systems. Aurenity said its underwriters use its “Augment” risk models to support underwriting decisions.
