Great American shuts down pomi
Great American Insurance Group appears to have shut down pomi , its digital accident and health platform launched to help brokers quote and bind coverage online.
The Cincinnati-based insurer introduced pomi in 2019 as an online portal allowing brokers to quote and bind blanket special risk policies in minutes. The platform targeted organizations such as daycares, nonprofits, camps, youth sports programs, after school activities, and K 12 schools.
The website, powered by Buddy, now displays a shutdown notice stating that Great American is no longer offering new Player Protect or Season Saver policies, two products previously available through the platform. Existing policyholders remain covered with no changes, while billing and policy service inquiries have been redirected to the insurer’s Accident and Health underwriting team.
pomi, short for Peace of Mind Insurance, was designed as a broker focused digital platform with a click and bind quoting process and self service tools including online quote submissions, appointment forms, claims forms, and educational resources. The portal provided 24/7 access for brokers to purchase group accident coverage and other special risk policies.
