GRAIL integrates Galleri test into Epic EHR

GRAIL has partnered with Epic Systems to integrate its Galleri multi-cancer early detection test into Epic’s electronic health record platform.

The integration, enabled through Epic Aura, allows clinicians to order the test at the point of care, receive results, and manage follow-up within existing clinical workflows and patient portals. The move is expected to expand access across hundreds of U.S. health systems while reducing administrative burden tied to diagnostic testing.

Implementation began in early 2026, with broader availability expected by year-end. GRAIL is working with Epic and Amazon Web Services, alongside health systems and providers, to support deployment and workflow integration.

“Today, recommended screening exists for only five cancers in the U.S., yet more than 70% of deaths are caused by cancers without a recommended screening test. With a scalable integration through Epic, we are reducing operational barriers and making it easier for healthcare providers to incorporate the Galleri test into routine care, with the ultimate goal of supporting early cancer detection before symptoms appear, when outcomes may be better. GRAIL looks forward to collaborating with Epic as well as health systems, clinicians, and care teams as the integration process begins.” – Josh Ofman, MD, MSHS, President at GRAIL.

“Aura helps healthcare organizations collaborate by removing administrative barriers. With GRAIL joining the Epic community, together with healthcare organizations, we can advance early detection and ultimately improve cancer survival rates.” – Alan Hutchison, Vice President at Epic.

“Integrating Galleri directly into Epic enables us to incorporate multi-cancer early detection into routine clinical care in a seamless way for both providers and patients. By embedding Galleri within our existing EHR infrastructure, we reduce administrative burden, support appropriate patient identification, and streamline ordering within established workflows. When breakthrough technologies are thoughtfully integrated into clinical practice, we can scale adoption responsibly, enhance the patient experience, improve care delivery, and further our commitment to proactive, population-focused health care.” – Philip Oravetz, M.D., Chief Population Health Officer at Ochsner Health.
