GM Insurance launches in three new states

General Motors Insurance has launched in three new states – Arkansas, Colorado and Louisiana.

The company is now available in 17 states: AZ, TX, GA, MN, IA, MO, IL, IN, OH, PA, TN, VA, AL, OK, AR, CO, and LA. The company plans to expand to 20 states by the end of the year.

In 2024, GM National Insurance Company, the licensed carrier that’s part of General Motors, generated ~$20 million in written premiums and reported an underwriting loss of $58 million. The carrier reported a net underwriting loss of $15.4 million in the first quarter of 2025.
