GM National Insurance Company releases Q1 2026 results

GM National Insurance Company, the licensed carrier that’s part of General Motors, published its Q1 2026 results, ending the period with $29.8 million in written premiums, up from $9.5 million in Q1 2025.

Loss & LAE ratio improved by about 23 points YoY.

Other underwriting expenses for the quarter were $20.1 million, compared to $12.6 million in Q1 2025.

The company posted a net underwriting loss of $23.4 million in Q1 2026, compared to a $15.4 million loss in Q1 2025.

The carrier generated premiums in 20 states with Texas ($10.9M), Michigan ($4.1M), Georgia ($3.4M), Illinois ($2.1M), and Arizona ($1.3M) as the top five.
