Ewa Rose to join Bondaval as Group CUO
Ewa Rose, a veteran executive of the trade credit insurance industry, will join Bondaval , a provider of technology-enabled credit insurance solutions, as Group Chief Underwriting Officer in February.
In her new capacity, Rose will leverage her extensive background across insurance and reinsurance to enhance Bondaval’s market presence, driving the expansion of their underwriting capabilities, while actively pursuing a broader spectrum of high-quality client solutions.
Based in London, she will be integral to shaping Bondaval’s evolving strategy as the company gears up for a planned expansion across Europe and the Americas. Rose’s more than three decades of expertise in trade credit, spanning broking and underwriting, coupled with her experience as a reinsurance purchaser, will bring valuable technical insights to Bondaval, complemented by an extensive network within the industry.
Bondaval represents the third underwriting division Rose has been involved with at an early stage, having previously set up and headed the trade credit business at ACE (now Chubb), before launching the trade credit, political risk and surety division at Markel. While at Markel, Rose led the operation from its inception to a multinational unit operating across London, Singapore, Dubai, New York and Chicago.
Most recently, Rose was a Managing Director at Aon Credit and Financial Risks Reinsurance Solutions, where she was responsible for strategic accounts, the team’s growth strategy, reinsurer relationships and placement of cutting-edge products, including capital solutions business.
“Bondaval is bringing an exciting new approach to the market, both in terms of the features of the product and its technology-driven means of delivery. We are well-placed not just to capture demand from existing buyers, but to bring new capacity to the market with the support of our partners across broking, insurance and reinsurance. Brokers have long been drivers of innovation in the credit insurance market, and we look forward to working with them to develop new applications for Bondaval’s products. I have been inspired by the Bondaval’s values and culture which were a key contributor to my decision to join the business. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team and contributing to its continuing success.” – Ewa Rose, incoming Group CUO, Bondaval.
Founded in 2020, Bondaval serves companies in the UK, EU, USA and Canada, and already counts supermajors Shell and BP among its clientele. Delivered through their proprietary cloud-based platform, Bondaval’s technology-enabled products typically feature higher indemnity and non-cancellable cover that can be managed, issued and claimed on digitally.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Ewa to Bondaval. Her expertise and track record of launching successful underwriting platforms globally will contribute to achieving our growth objectives and help to lead Bondaval’s continuing development.” – Tom Powell, CEO, Bondaval,
