EPIC acquires Sentry transportation’s direct writing operation

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants  has acquired Sentry Transportation’s direct writing operation, bringing more than 500 trucking clients and their servicing team into Interstate Motor Carriers, an EPIC company.

The deal expands EPIC’s transportation platform and deepens its presence in the trucking sector, adding a team that has long focused on owner operators and large fleets. Sentry, one of the largest mutual insurance groups in the country, built its trucking business through independent agencies, and this carve out moves its direct writing unit under EPIC’s national transportation arm.

Interstate Motor Carriers has served motor carriers for over eighty years and has been recognized repeatedly by Sentry for its performance. The addition of Sentry’s team gives EPIC broader carrier access, a larger client base, and more capacity to deliver specialized trucking coverage and risk solutions.

EPIC’s Transportation and Logistics group offers cargo, liability, fleet and warehouse programs, alongside services such as claims management and contract review software. The acquisition strengthens EPIC’s ability to support transportation clients as they scale and manage operational risk.
