Direct Line Group partners with Drover
Direct Line Group has partnered with European car-subscription service startup Drover to insure its consumer vehicle base. As part of the partnership, consumers will be able to get insurance when taking out a subscription on a vehicle online.
Drover, which was founded in 2015 and has raised £7.5 million, will allow consumers to use their own insurance in case they choose not to go with the one provided by Direct Line Group.
This isn’t Drover’s first insurance partner – In 2017 – the startup announced a partnership with Munich Re to launch a car insurance product for fleet owners and ridesharing drivers, however, that partnership has ended and Drover recently partnered with Zego.
“We’re really excited about working in partnership with Drover. We love their fresh-thinking approach to accessing a vehicle and are thrilled to be part of this unique customer proposition!” – Rebeca Clapham, Head of UK Business Insurance Solutions at Direct Line Group.
