Dearborn Labs Announces Launchpad, an AI Insurance Accelerator That Funds and Builds AI Infrastructure for MGAs

Application-only program is now open for a limited cohort of MGAs. Accepted members pay nothing for the build and pay only on measured outcomes.

CHICAGO, July 14, 2026 — Dearborn Labs, a forward-deployed AI firm focused exclusively on insurance, today announced Launchpad, an AI Insurance accelerator program that funds and builds AI infrastructure and workflows for best-in-class managing general agents (MGAs).

In this partnership, Dearborn Labs forward-deploys its engineers to build and implement AI systems across claims, underwriting, acquisition, servicing and data platforms. Partners own the technology, paying only for outcomes such as submissions triaged, servicing events completed and claims closed.

While the MGA segment is growing fast,  its operating infrastructure has not kept pace. MGA written premium grew from about $47 billion in 2020 to about $114 billion in 2024 in the US. Yet 93% of MGAs run isolated policy admin systems, and under 7% have deployed AI agents.*

Launchpad removes the barrier that keeps most MGAs from adopting AI: the upfront cost of the build and the experienced team to do it.

“The best MGAs don’t have time to build great AI; they’re too busy being great MGAs. Distribution, underwriting and servicing are complex operations, and layering a technology build on top is expensive and slow without  the right tools and talent,” said Dearborn Labs Co-founder & CEO Kyle Nakatsuji. “We designed Launchpad to partner with insurance operators who are exceptional at what they do and deserve access to the best technology available.”

Applications are open now and will be reviewed on a rolling basis until they close on September 8, 2026. Dearborn Labs will select a limited cohort of three to five MGAs, typically those writing more than $10M in annual premiums.

Dearborn Labs was founded by the operators who built Clearcover, an AI-native carrier, and has been running the carrier for nearly a decade. At the start of 2026, Clearcover had achieved more than 90% of claims intake through AI agents and binding 93% of policies digitally. Launchpad applies that same operating experience directly to partner implementations.

Typical first workflows are the ones that pay back fastest: submission triage, servicing, and bordereaux automation. Partners meter a rate-per-work event and pay only as the system does the work, so they can grow their proprietary tech stacks without adding headcount.

Applications are now open at dearbornlabs.com/launchpad

The application window closes on August 31. Reach out to [email protected] for more information.
