Compare the Market launches ChatGPT integration

Compare the Market , the UK-based insurance comparison platform owned by BGL Group, is introducing a ChatGPT integration that allows users to estimate car insurance costs through a conversational interface.

The experience enables users to receive a personalised estimate for a UK-registered private car by entering a few details, including vehicle registration, postcode, age, and no-claims discount. The tool automatically retrieves vehicle data and returns an indicative annual premium, giving users a quick sense of affordability before proceeding to a full quote.

The feature is designed as a pre-quote step, helping users compare likely costs without leaving ChatGPT, and streamlining the early stages of the insurance shopping journey. 

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in the United Kingdom, Compare the Market operates as a B2C aggregator across multiple lines, including personal auto, life, health, travel, and property.

The move follows similar ChatGPT-based insurance experiences launched by Mercury Insurance, Simply Business, and Jerry, as carriers and intermediaries experiment with conversational distribution and embedded comparison tools.
