CHERRISK pauses policy sells in the German market
According to its website, UNIQA’s insurance brand targeting millennials and Generation Z, CHERRISK , is no longer selling policies in Germany but remains available in Hungary.
The company stated: “Dear Valued Customers, We’re sorry to inform you that we’re currently unable to provide new CHERRISK Travel, Home, and Accident Insurance policies. In the meantime, we continue to prioritize claim handling for existing contracts.”
UNIQA Group launched the digital brand on September 17, 2018. The project had been in development since Spring 2014, with UNIQA investing over €4 million in innovation company CherryHub Kft, which implemented CHERRISK. The company offered Accident, Personal Auto, Residential Property, and Travel insurance, covering over 400,000 individuals as of June 2022.
The name’s theme allowed users to collect ‘cherries’ by participating in risk-reduction games, which could then be used to reduce insurance premiums or support a charity or community of choice.
CHERRISK provided the following comment:
“CHERRISK has discontinued its sales activities on the German market, where new travel- home- and accident insurances are no longer available. They continue to provide claim handling and complete customer care services for existing German customers as long as they have active policies. Important to note, that on the Hungarian market they shall continue an unobstructed operation (sales , claims and customer care as well).”
