Blue Marble partners with MAPFRE on parametric climate insurance

Blue Marble Microinsurance is working with Mapfre to expand access to parametric insurance in markets with significant protection gaps.

The partnership combines Blue Marble’s product design and modeling capabilities with MAPFRE’s local market knowledge and distribution network. The companies will develop solutions that use objective data and predefined triggers to provide faster payouts following climate-related events.

Blue Marble said the collaboration is intended to make climate protection more accessible while strengthening the financial resilience of vulnerable communities and businesses.
