AXA XL names global CUO for structured risk solutions

AXA XL  appointed Jiten Halai as global chief underwriting officer for structured risk solutions, reinforcing its push into alternative risk transfer.

In the role, Halai will lead global underwriting strategy for structured risk solutions, working across regions to expand AXA XL’s capabilities in non traditional insurance for corporates and captives. The move comes as demand grows for bespoke, multi line and multi year risk structures that go beyond traditional coverage.

AXA XL’s structured risk solutions unit focuses on customized offerings, including performance insurance for emerging technologies and complex risk transfer programs. The company has been building out the function, including expanding its alternative risk solutions team in the Americas.

Halai joined AXA XL in 2019 and most recently led structured risk solutions for the UK and Lloyd’s market. He previously held actuarial roles at Fidelis, Brit Insurance, ArgoGlobal, and Catlin.
