AXA Switzerland adopts Shift Claims

Shift Technology  introduced Shift Claims, a platform designed to improve claims operations with agentic AI. The solution assesses and prioritizes cases, guides claim handlers, and automates tasks across the claims lifecycle to speed processing, improve accuracy, and reduce costs.

Traditional claims transformation has struggled with complexity and the variability of individual claims. Shift’s approach combines generative AI, already integrated into its products for tasks such as document summarization and liability determination, with agentic AI that enables autonomous, task-specific actions.

AXA Switzerland  is among the first to adopt Shift Claims, citing the platform’s ability to increase automation while still supporting human decision-making. Early adopters report a 3% reduction in claims losses, 30% faster handling, a 60% automation rate, and over 99% accuracy in claims assessment.

Shift Claims integrates with existing claims systems and focuses on four areas: assessing complexity, classifying and prioritizing claims, assisting handlers when human input is required, and automating claims or individual tasks.
