AXA and UK universities partner to build AI insurance framework
AXA has joined forces with the University of Edinburgh, WMG at the University of Warwick, and the University of Oxford to launch a £2M initiative aimed at insuring against the commercial risks of artificial intelligence.
Backed by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the “AI2: Assurance and Insurance for Artificial Intelligence” partnership will develop audit tools to evaluate AI systems on metrics like accuracy, bias, and privacy. WMG researchers will focus on national infrastructure applications and how assurance standards could shape future AI insurance pricing. The effort aims to transfer AI risk into the insurance market while incentivizing safer system development.
