Avios Insurance adds car coverage

Open and IAG Loyalty have expanded Avios Insurance into car insurance, following the brand’s launch with travel coverage earlier this year.

British Airways Club members can earn 20 Avios per £1 spent on car insurance through November 27, capped at 10,000 Avios. The ongoing offer will provide 10 Avios per £1, according to Open co-founder Jason Wilby.

The product offers comprehensive coverage to residents of England, Scotland and Wales, with quotes compared across a panel that includes Allianz, Ageas and Covéa. Optional extras include RAC breakdown cover, motor legal protection and excess protection. Customers can manage policies and renew online.

Open Insurance Services UK arranges and administers the policies, while Avios Group promotes the offering as its appointed representative.

Home insurance is expected to follow in 2027.
