Atrium appoints Gabe Karroum to lead AUGold business development

Atrium Underwriters appointed Gabe Karroum as vice president of business development to lead growth initiatives for AUGold, the company’s quote, bind, and policy issuance platform.

Karroum joins the Lloyd’s specialty insurer from mShift, where he served as senior territory sales manager focused on wholesale, retail, and professional lines insurance markets. He previously held roles at Cowbell Cyber, Nationwide, and The Hartford.

Atrium said Karroum will focus on expanding AUGold’s reach across its MGA network and supporting distribution into admitted and excess and surplus lines markets.

Launched in 2005, AUGold provides dedicated Lloyd’s capacity to MGAs in the U.S. for specialty risks. Simon Lewis, head of digital underwriting and president of ARMS, said the company has “ambitious plans” for the platform as it looks to grow market share and broaden adoption among partners.
