Atrium receives Lloyd’s approval to launch Syndicate 2026

Atrium Underwriters has secured “in principle” approval from Lloyd’s to launch Syndicate 2026, which is expected to begin underwriting on January 1, 2026, with a target GWP of $150 million for its first year. The new syndicate will focus on delegated property catastrophe, weather, and climate risk.

The launch is part of Atrium’s broader transformation strategy and expands its platform beyond Syndicate 609, which currently writes property, casualty and specialty business. Capital support for Syndicate 2026 comes from a mix of trade, institutional and traditional partners, with advisory support from Aon and Evercore.

Rachel Grunert will serve as Active Underwriter, bringing more than three decades of underwriting experience. She will continue in her role as Head of Culture while leading the new syndicate.
