AmTrust launches APRA-licensed insurer in Australia

AmTrust International has launched an APRA-licensed branch insurer, AmTrust Specialty Limited, establishing a local presence in Australia as part of its long-term regional strategy. The new entity will focus on expanding access to legal expenses insurance and building a sustainable platform for growth in the market.

The move supports AmTrust’s plans to strengthen relationships with intermediaries, litigation funders, and legal professionals while delivering locally underwritten solutions backed by its global capabilities. Simon Warr and Chiara Stoehrmann will support the legal expenses offering as lead underwriters.
