Acrisure to lay off 400 employees

Acrisure plans to cut about 400 jobs globally in 2026 as it integrates AI to automate accounting tasks, according to a report by Crain’s Grand Rapids Business.

The layoffs will affect accounting staff in Acrisure’s North American Retail and North America Specialty divisions and occur over the coming year, mostly in the first quarter of 2026.

According to the report, the jobs cuts are the result of an AI platform that Acrisure acquired in 2020. After further developing the technology and using it internally, the company is now deploying the platform to automate a significant portion of the accounting functions in the two divisions.

The company employs about 20,000 people globally across 24 countries and is on track to exceed $5 billion in revenue this year. Its workforce includes 2,000 people in Michigan, about half of whom are in Grand Rapids.
