Acrisure launches Asero to unify specialty MGA operations
Acrisure has launched Asero Insurance Services, a new specialty managing general agency platform that brings together several of its U.S.-based program administrators under a single brand.
Acrisure owns 13 U.S. MGAs that collectively underwrite more than $1 billion in premium. Six of those businesses will initially operate under the Asero brand, with additional MGAs expected to join over time.
The platform combines specialty underwriting teams with shared data and analytics, actuarial, and technology capabilities, while also leveraging Acrisure’s centralized legal, regulatory, finance, and HR functions.
Asero’s underwriters operate under delegated authority agreements with unaffiliated insurers, issuing policies on carriers’ behalf and distributing products through independent retail agents, wholesalers, and alternative channels.
The platform focuses on small and midsize businesses, underwriting classes such as commercial auto, logistics, commercial property, security and alarm contractors, artisan contractors, and snow and ice removal. Products include property, casualty, workers’ compensation, and specialty coverages.
The launch follows Acrisure’s introduction of Ascendri Insurance Services and its acquisition of property MGA Vave earlier this year.
“Asero is the next step in unifying nearly 20 acquisitions into a single underwriting platform. Each program within Asero is run by a team of professionals with deep experience in a particular product or class of business. At Asero, underwriting comes first.” – Adrian Jones, Head of Underwriting and Specialty Retail at Acrisure.
