Achmea sets 2030 strategy

Achmea outlined its new long-term strategy and financial objectives, aiming to build on the goals set in 2021 and completed by the end of 2025. Under the banner Achmea Next Level, the company plans to deepen its digital capabilities, expand internationally, and grow its pension and life business.

The strategy centers on four priorities: more personalized, data-driven distribution; a company-wide AI program; international expansion in direct digital non-life insurance while maintaining leadership in the Dutch market; and accelerating growth in Pension & Life through its partnership with Sixth Street.

Achmea says these choices reinforce its leadership in healthcare and non-life in the Netherlands, support international digital growth, and position the company as a broader European player. Sustainability remains a core theme, including commitments to climate-neutral operations by 2030 and a climate-neutral insurance portfolio by 2050.

By 2030, Achmea is targeting €1 billion in operating profit and €750 million in Operational Free Capital Generation, along with €20 billion in impact-investing assets. Full details will be shared at its online Investor Update in April 2026.
