Acera Insurance expands Ontario presence with Guthrie Insurance

Acera Insurance  has partnered with Guthrie Insurance Brokers, a Markham-based firm serving the Greater Toronto Area for decades. The deal marks Acera’s eighth office in Ontario and supports its push to scale a Canadian-owned, independent brokerage platform.

Guthrie Insurance brings a long-standing reputation for personalized service and joins existing Acera locations in Brampton, Burlington, Huntsville, Kingston, Newmarket, Ottawa, and Richmond Hill. The firm will transition to the Acera brand following the deal, which closed on October 6, 2025.

The move strengthens Acera’s position as a locally controlled alternative to foreign-backed and insurer-owned aggregators.
