RideVision, Sara Assicurazioni to reduce motorbike accidents in Italy
Italian insurer Sara Assicurazioni has partnered with Ride Vision for its predictive vision system that equips motorcyclists with low-cost threat alerts using their patented Collision Aversion Technology (CAT™). Motorcyclists insured by Sara Assicurazioni could be eligible for a “significant discount” on their yearly premium when they retrofit their vehicles with RideVision’s system. This offer will take effect next year when RideVision’s system officially hits the Italian market.
Here’s how RideVision works: Established in 2018, the Israeli startup developed an Advanced Rider Assistance System with CAT™ – Collision Aversion Technology designed to seamlessly integrate with the motorbikes, utilizing standard cameras as visual sensors. CAT can recognize and analyze relevant threats without disturbing the rider’s critical focus. Finally, its Advanced Rider Assistance System also operates as a dashcam, allowing bikers and 2-wheeler fleet operators to maintain evidence recording in case of an accident.
“Road safety has always been our main focus, and we’re now glad to start addressing the area of motorbikes where chances for an accident are higher. This is why we’re developing a promotional offer for RideVision retrofitted bikes.” – General Manager of Sara Assicurazioni, Alberto Tosti.
“Our collaboration addresses an untreated segment of two-wheeler commuters and fleet operators to promote road safety. We’re confident that RideVision and Sara’s agreement will bring innovation to an often-overlooked community and is a crucial step forward to reduce accidents.” – CEO & Cofounder at RideVision, Uri Lavi.
