Guardian partners with Sierra on AI customer service
Guardian Life has entered a multiyear partnership with Sierra to use its AI customer service platform for routine requests, including dental benefit verification, payment processing and claim status inquiries.
The insurer is applying Sierra’s technology to high-volume service interactions, including approximately 1 million dental benefit verification calls annually. Guardian aims to help customers complete requests faster while allowing employees to focus on more complex needs.
“Our partnership with Sierra demonstrates how Guardian is turning the tremendous potential of AI into tangible value for our customers,” said Michael Prestileo, Chief Strategy Officer at Guardian.

Sierra, launched in February 2024 and led by CEO and co-founder Bret Taylor, develops AI agents that answer questions and complete tasks for customers. The company says it surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue within seven quarters.
The agreement follows Guardian’s partnerships with HCLTech on technology modernization and Avantos on wealth management capabilities and AI.
Founded in 2023, San Francisco-based Sierra has raised approximately $1.59 billion, including a $950 million round announced in May 2026. It also just announced the acquisition of Anon, whose browser automation technology lets AI agents sign in to websites and complete tasks across systems without APIs.
