BrokerLink acquires three Canadian brokerages

BrokerLink has acquired three insurance brokerages across Alberta and Nova Scotia.

The Intact Financial subsidiary acquired Calgary-based CRS/Merrill Insurance, Ames’ Insurance & Real Estate in Pincher Creek, Alberta, and Schofield Insurance in Nova Scotia. The transactions closed on August 1.

The Ames acquisition marks BrokerLink’s entry into Pincher Creek, while CRS Merrill expands its existing presence in Calgary. Schofield, founded in 1977, operates offices in Windsor and Halifax and offers personal, commercial and specialty insurance products.

Employees of the three brokerages will join BrokerLink and continue serving their existing communities.

BrokerLink operates 235 branches and employs more than 5,000 people across Canada.
