Amynta Group to acquire Southern States’ insurance operations

Amynta Group , an insurance services company that operates MGAs and specialty underwriting businesses, has agreed to acquire Southern States Underwriters and SSC Insurance Agency, the insurance operations of Southern States Cooperative. Terms weren’t disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Founded in 1953, Southern States Underwriters is a managing general underwriter specializing in commercial property and casualty insurance for suppliers, distributors, and service providers in the agricultural industry. It also serves as attorney-in-fact and exclusive distribution partner for Southern States Insurance Exchange, a reciprocal focused on agribusiness risks.

President John Madden will continue to lead the business, while Southern States Cooperative will remain a long-term customer.

The acquisition brings Amynta into a new market segment that complements its platform, which manages more than $4 billion in premium globally.
