Fletch launches pet insurance comparison app in ChatGPT

Fletch  has launched a pet insurance comparison app in ChatGPT, allowing US pet owners to receive and compare live quotes without leaving the conversation.

The Pet Insurance Comparison app collects basic information about the animal, including species, name, breed, age and sex, along with the owner’s ZIP code and email address. It then presents quotes from participating insurers in a side-by-side format showing the monthly premium, deductible, reimbursement rate, annual limit and whether wellness coverage is included.

In one test involving a four-year-old male golden retriever, the app returned accident and illness quotes from Spot, Lemonade, Prudent Pet and Healthy Paws. Monthly estimates ranged from $35.95 for Spot to $112.05 for Healthy Paws, with differences in annual limits.

Users can review individual carrier cards and click “Continue on carrier website” to customize coverage and complete the purchase.

Fletch describes the app as a comparison and discovery tool rather than an insurance carrier or licensed agency. Quotes are non-binding, and final pricing, eligibility and coverage are determined by the individual insurer.

The app may access a summary of the user’s recent ChatGPT context and intent to respond to requests.
