Canopy Connect Reaches 10 Million Shared Insurance Policies as Demand for Verified Insurance Data Grows
Canopy Connect has reached 10 million shared insurance policies, a milestone that highlights growing adoption of consumer-permissioned insurance data across insurance, lending and automotive markets.
The company, which enables individuals to share insurance information for quoting and verification purposes, said more than 6,000 businesses and 24,000 users now use its platform. Founded in 2020, Canopy Connect has expanded beyond its core of insurance agencies to serve carriers, lenders, dealerships, insurance marketplaces and technology providers.
The company announced in 2024 that it had reached 2 million shared policies and has since added 8 million more in less than two years.
“Going from two million to 10 million policies in under two years isn’t just a number — it’s proof that the industry is ready for a fundamentally better way to move insurance data,” said Tolga Tezel, founder and CEO of Canopy Connect. “The businesses and agents who made this happen didn’t wait for the industry to catch up. They saw a better way and went for it, for their teams and for the clients they serve.”
The milestone comes as insurance agencies and carriers continue to invest in digital workflows that reduce reliance on emailed declarations pages, manual data entry and other traditional methods of collecting policy information. Through its insurance intake and verification platforms, Canopy Connect allows consumers to authorize the sharing of insurance information directly from carrier systems, providing businesses with access to verified policy data.
The company integrates with hundreds of personal and commercial insurance carriers and connects with agency management systems, comparative raters and customer relationship management platforms. Its offerings include an insurance verification API and tools designed to support consumer-permissioned insurance data sharing.
Canopy Connect has previously announced partnerships and integrations with industry technology providers including Vertafore, and TSD Mobility as businesses seek faster ways to collect and verify insurance information.
The company’s growth suggests increasing demand for verified, consumer-permissioned insurance data as agencies, carriers and adjacent industries continue to modernize how insurance information is collected and shared.
