Walmart Canada launches free extended warranty program with Asurion

Walmart Canada has launched Walmart Extended Care, a new program powered by Asurion that provides customers purchasing eligible televisions, laptops, and desktop computers with an additional year of warranty coverage at no extra cost.

The program includes two years of total defect coverage, with Walmart Extended Care extending protection beyond the manufacturer’s warranty period. Customers also receive access to 24/7 bilingual automated tech support and an online claims process.

The launch builds on Walmart Canada’s existing Walmart Protection Plan, also administered by Asurion, which offers paid extended coverage options for eligible electronics. Asurion said the program leverages its global support network, claims infrastructure, and AI-powered customer service capabilities to deliver tech support and warranty services.
