Tokio Marine HCC and Adaptive launch Restaurant Recovery insurance

Tokio Marine HCC and Adaptive Insurance launched Restaurant Recovery, a digital insurance product designed to help restaurants manage financial and reputational risks tied to food contamination incidents, adverse publicity, malicious tampering, and product extortion.

The product combines Tokio Marine HCC’s crisis management insurance offering with Adaptive’s AI-driven platform, allowing restaurant owners and brokers to quote and bind coverage online within seconds. Available limits include $500,000 and $1 million options.

The policy also includes access to crisis response support from food safety consultancy The Acheson Group. According to the companies, the offering targets restaurants ranging from single-location operators to national chains.

Adaptive previously launched GridProtect, a parametric insurance product for short-duration power outages.

“Partnering with Adaptive allows us to bring our deep expertise in crisis management to a wider audience through a seamless, tech-forward experience. The restaurant industry has never been more exposed. Incidents that once took days to escalate now unfold in a matter of hours, and the financial consequences can outlast the incident itself. Restaurant Recovery gives owners the confidence to act decisively and recover quickly.” – Sean Curtin, President of Tokio Marine HCC – Specialty Group.
