Tokio Marine HCC appoints Brian Alva to lead cyber underwriting

Tokio Marine HCC’s Cyber & Professional Lines Group has appointed Brian Alva senior vice president of underwriting to lead its cyber and technology underwriting business.

Alva joins from Travelers, where he was vice president of specialty cyber. He previously held senior roles at Corvus Insurance and NAS Insurance Services, now part of Tokio Marine HCC.

At CPLG, doing business as NAS Insurance Services, Alva will focus on underwriting capabilities, talent development, portfolio and product strategy, and coordination across claims, actuarial, data science, risk services, and distribution.

The appointment marks a return to NAS for Alva, who spent nearly nine years with the business and helped expand its cyber and professional-liability underwriting presence nationally.
