WTW launches Health Transparency Optimizer

WTW has launched Health Transparency Optimizer, a new analytics platform designed to bring greater clarity to healthcare pricing across employer benefit programs.

The tool aggregates negotiated price data, quality metrics, and utilization insights to give employers a comprehensive view of healthcare costs alongside outcomes. WTW says the platform is intended to support more informed network and pricing decisions by reducing bias and improving accuracy through timely, standardized data.

Health Transparency Optimizer combines price transparency with predictive analytics to assess network structures, uncover hidden fees, and generate employer-specific budget estimates based on actual provider utilization. The platform also evaluates centers of excellence and alternative networks across key markets, while incorporating social, economic, clinical, environmental, and climate data that influence employee populations.

WTW positions the launch as part of its broader push to help employers navigate rising healthcare costs with more transparent, data-driven decision-making.

“Employers typically rely on carrier-reported discounts and often incomplete data when assessing network partners. This approach typically overlooks various hidden or extraneous fees, fails to account for differences between networks, and does not incorporate important metrics like the quality of care provided. Health Transparency Optimizer delivers a comprehensive and transparent solution, enabling confident, data-driven decisions. Ultimately, this clarity helps employers make smarter choices and achieve better outcomes.” – Elodie Olsen, FAA Intellectual Capital Leader, Health & Benefits.
