Carbar acquires HelloCars

Carbar has acquired HelloCars Subscription from Loopit, marking its second major move this year following its $3.8 million purchase of ASX-listed Carly in May. The deal reinforces Carbar’s position in Australia’s car subscription market as consolidation continues.

Loopit, whose platform powers subscription and rental services globally, will now focus solely on its software business while continuing to support HelloCars under Carbar’s ownership. Carbar plans to keep the HelloCars brand as a value-focused offering, complementing its premium Carbar service and Carly’s mid-tier positioning.

CEO Des Hang said the acquisition strengthens Carbar’s scale and brand coverage, creating a broader range of subscription options for Australian drivers. Under all three brands—Carbar, Carly, and HelloCars—customers get exclusive vehicle use with fixed weekly payments covering maintenance, insurance, registration, and roadside assistance.

Loopit’s director Paul Higgins noted the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting subscription growth through its software platform.
