Pinnacol marks 110 Years

Pinnacol Assurance  is celebrating 110 years of providing workers’ comp coverage in Colorado.

Founded in 1915 as the State Compensation Insurance Fund, Pinnacol has evolved into a modern mutual insurer covering over 50,000 businesses across the state.

The company has returned $15 million in dividends to policyholders in 2025, maintained strong ratings from AM Best and Ward’s 50, and continues to invest in community initiatives and tech-forward solutions like Cake Insure and Attune. Pinnacol also operates the largest scholarship program of its kind in the U.S., awarding nearly $9 million to children of injured or deceased workers.
