Flood Re strengthens executive team amid climate challenges
Flood Re has announced several senior leadership changes as it prepares for a critical phase in its mission to support affordable flood insurance and guide the UK market toward risk-reflective pricing ahead of its 2039 exit.
Latinka Pilipovic will join the organization as Chief Financial Officer and Board member on August 1, pending regulatory approval. She most recently served as CFO of Guardian Financial Services and brings over 25 years of experience from roles at Foresters Financial UK, Legal & General, and Aviva.
Internally, Dan Byrne has been promoted from Chief Risk Officer to Chief Commercial Officer. Byrne has been with Flood Re since 2016 and was instrumental in the launch of the reinsurer’s inaugural catastrophe bond. He will remain in his current role until an interim CRO is appointed.
In addition, Max Bero, who joined Flood Re at its inception, has been promoted from Director of Operations to Chief Operating Officer, also pending regulatory approval.
The changes follow the appointment of Perry Thomas as CEO earlier this year and reflect Flood Re’s focus on strengthening leadership as it faces rising climate-related risks.
